Background: The U.S. Postal Service celebrates the holiday season with four stamps featuring characters from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, the longest-running and highest-rated Christmas special in TV history. The art for each stamp is a still frame from the animated special, created by Rankin/Bass Productions. Rudolph, Santa, and the Abominable Snowman star on stamps of their own, while a fourth stamp features Hermey the elf, touching Rudolph's red nose. Art director Greg Breeding designed the stamps.
